Description
My chalk mats are a big hit with toddlers and small children. All chalk mats are made using second-hand materials (see below for details). You'll find a little pocket which sits four different colour chalks. Chalk mats are wiped clean, ready to start again. Use a wet cloth or nappy wipe, and allow to dry before reusing with chalk again. Velcro closure.
Perfect for cafe's, plane trips, airports, Grandparents house, or simply an activity to do when there are no toys available!
Is the chalk mat made from 100% recycled materials? Not completely, but wherever possible, I do endeavour to purchase all of my materials second hand. Here is a full breakdown.
Main fabric - either pillowcases, vintage fabric, quilting second hand fabric, thrift or gifted
Velcro strap - thrift bias strip
Chalk mat fabric - new, oil cloth
Chalk holder pocket fabric - a gift of quilting squares, originally purchased second hand, and eco-fi kunin eco-felt (made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles)
Vinyl lip holding chalks - reclaimed vinyl cut off, purchased from a recycle centre
Chalks - new
Velco - new
Please note that images are examples of my work, some of these mats I have sold, but this gives you an idea of the mats I tailor make. I can make boy-themed chalk mats (cars, rockets, tractors, etc) girl-themed (pink florals, fairies, etc) or neutral (farm animals, zoo animals)
